The night pictures of the high-level bridge are some of my absolute favourites. For over a century, the Lethbridge high-level bridge blended into the coulees. Every evening as the sun set, only to reappear as the sun rose the next day. But for the 100th anniversary, something magical happened. The bridge lit up as the sun set and stayed illuminated for part of the night.
This celebration had been 100 years in the making, and it was unbelievably amazing. I was lucky enough to be one of the photographers there to capture the bridge lighting up. I managed to capture that special night and every night it was lit for the next two years.
During the anniversary lighting, I was fortunate to share the experience with my oldest boy. We hiked in the coulees to capture the bridge from different angles. The weather was just about perfect, starting with a warm and clear night, cooling off, and then a slight rain shower passing through the area.
It allowed us to capture the entire night, getting different looks the whole time. Now, many years later, my memories of that night are preserved in the images that I get to share with you here. You can now join me in sharing those memories.
